I have never hesitated when one of my favorite clients requested to have their pictures taken at City Park! I will always love the grace and southern charm of draping Spanish moss hanging from 100 year old Live Oak trees. { Gasp } Did I mention how beautiful this family is? Little Miss Beth is going to have a special blessing day on Easter. What a special day, for a special little girl! Her mom and I thought it would be a really cute idea to have blessing pictures taken, developed, and displayed throughout the home while family comes in town for the occasion. Best of luck little Miss Elizabeth. Oh...Did I mention that this dress is a heirloom? It was made by my friends Aunt. Beth's mom was blessed in it. Now it's Beth's turn. My friend made the bow headband and replaced the sateen pink ribbon and bows. What a treasure!

A darling little name for a darling little girl. She must have been camera shy, cause I had to work for those smiles. Yet- I just love the serious baby pictures! And a santa suit....[melt my heart]. It was only fitting for this time of year. I was so anxious to post these pictures, but knowing Christmas cards were in the works- I didn't want to spoil the fun. Happy Holidays!

Here are a couple of really darling girls. I like being able to see them every few months and see how they grow and change. Miss Lily has nearly tripled in size it seems. Miraculously her heart conditions are improving and she still continues to be a healthy and happy baby! Miss Addie has reached the toddler stage. No longer am I able to get her attention. She is an inquisitive little girl who was fascinated by songs, ducks, trees.. just about everything but me. Hopefully this dear family is pleased with these cute pictures. I personally don't think that you can go wrong when the subjects are beautiful!

Oh newborns are the sweetest little things... especially this little guy. Once he was feed, he zonked out! It helps when they get to that stage (nursing coma) and you can adjust their little hands and feet to the position you want them in. They only sad part about taking newborn pictures is that by the time the parents get prints of the shoot, their babies have already started to change. Too bad they can't stay this little forever!

Here is Miss Jessica. Class of 2010. Congrats!!! You have made it one more step into the big world. Everytime I look at these pictures, I can't get over the fact that I have known this girl since she was an infant. I remember way back then. Plus... I took my senior pictures the same place that I took her pictures. Man.... do I feel OLD. But I just have to keep telling myself that 24 is not old. Anyways... Congrats Jessica. Meet.. Lillian. She was born 3 months early. This little miracle baby finally made it home a couple of weeks ago. A celebration was in order! We celebrated her homecoming and three month shots with a camera constantly in her face and lots of heat lights. What a party I tell ya! I am so glad that this family can now enjoy being home together! Having a family seperated for so long is rough... really rough. But several prayers were answered in behalf of Miss Lily.

FAMILY really is what it is all about..right? Well... this family has been friends with mine for several years. In fact, maybe generations. Funny huh! This is one true New Orleanian Family! (Decked out in the Saints gear and all!) Now that everyone in their family is married- and almost everyone with children- it was long due for some group family shots. I wouldn't say that I am a group family photographer- however, they were great to work with! I just love it when the families interact, joke and love each other. It always comes out more natural in pictures, rather than me trying to pose people. I hope that I was able to capture some of those candids.

Oh how I just love returning customers! Plus- they are amazing to work with! I am sure the little girl was born to be a model. She could strike a pose for me at any given minute! And the little boy is competely ALL BOY! - Not interested in the camera- Just wanting to climb trees- be tackled by his family- and run around! This family is from TX, so I hope these pictures made their trip to New Orleans a little more worth it!

Here is Miss Addie. The day we actually took her pictures was her first birthday!! Yay for birthdays! I had to try my luck at a few pictures with her eatting some cake. Boy was she ready for it! I don't think that I should call this post a "sneak peek" because I am fully aware that these are not great quality pictures. However, I just had to post them for Ejiah's family. As I was looking through the pictures and sorting them, I kept busting out laughing. I have SO many different pictures with ALL different facial expressions. Maybe they are used to having such an animated child- but I found it hilarious. I don't even think that I could come up with as many expressions as he has. And I am sure that he probably uses all of them on a daily basis.

First off, aren't those really cute names?!? They match the personally of these little cute kids! Miss Ella here was an expert at modeling. She spent the night before as a maid in one of the New Orleans Mardi Gras Parades so she was a pro when it was her time to 'ham it up' for the camera. And her little brother Charlie.... talk about a cutie!! Nine months is a really fun age to capture. And if only my children could have their blue blue eyes!!!

Does she look familiar? Yep- here is Miss Addie at 9 months. She has grown up so much! I can't tell whether she looks more like her mom or her dad. But either way, they have some trouble on their hands when she gets older! Addie was such a doll, as usual. We escaped bribery with sugar; but somehow, she managed to go home with several ant bites. She was a trooper and kept smiling through it all. (PS- Mom and Dad, I hope she recovered quickly and that she was alright!)

This little family was so cooperative and relaxed. Photo shoots are go so much easier when we all feel comfortable- like friends! With a beautiful mom and great dad- this little boy has everything going for him! This little growing boy was in my studio as a newborn. I am constantly amazed at how fast these little babies grow up.

Doesn't she look like a little doll!?! I just loved her little tutu and Mrs. Claus outfit. DARLING! This little girl is definitely a happy baby. She had NO problem smiling and laughing the entire time. Although, she did get a little distracted with her shoes and the candy cane. It wasn't until the end of the photo shoot that we discovered she could suck the candy through the wrapper. THAT is why she liked the candy cane so much! The new Christmas Baby Diet: rice cereal, fruit, vegetables, and candy canes.

These little brothers are very different. Don't let the matching little sweaters fool you! Andrew (the baby) had just woken up from a nap and did not want to let go of his mom. What a cute little mama's boy! I could have never guessed that he was a quarter Cuban! I only can wish to have eyes that blue! Tommy on the other hand is ALL BOY! He was not as interested in taking pictures and sitting still long enough. He is a busy little boy with places to go, things to do, and stuff to discover! This last picture made me laugh so hard!!! At the end of the photo shoot, they all had enough and wanted to leave. And I am not 100% sure what these cuties are like at home, but I think that this picture really captures some personality....[Julianna is whining that something is in her eye and that she is tired, Andrew's always calm and docile, and Ashley is biting Tommy because he is sticking his finger in her mouth and telling her to smile.... Hahaha.... oh to be the mother of 4!]

Yep, that's right..... I'm lookin' for some good little contestants!!! I was thinking "A Day At The Park" with lollipops, balloons, ducks, ect... So bring your kiddos and join me and my camera at the park for some good-ole-fashion photography fun!

***FINE PRINT*****
Okay, so here is the scoop....
* We are going to be outside for this photo shoot at a nearby park, duh! So mornings, afternoons, or Saturdays work best. We can talk scheduling later.
* I'm looking for 1-2 child(ren) (boy or girl, I'm not partial). However, I would like the age to range from 2-7 years old.
* Since we are at the park and you might have more children that need to tag along, there is a play area available.
* I am also looking for bright, youthful, summer attire.
* The session can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. (It really depends on the child(ren).

So..... you know the drill, send me an email with the name and pic of the child(ren) you would liked photographed. If you and your little family don't meet the requirements YET, please pass the word along to someone that might be interested. What could it hurt? The kids get to play outside and you get a free picture!

The winner will be announced on THURSDAY, MARCH 20th!!!!

***Minor detail*** You will receive a low resolution proof cd so you can determine which picture you want for the 8x10. There have been some questions about buying other pictures. If you are interested, then let me know and I can give you the pricing.

Lexi and Troy were fabulous to work with!!! I really liked Lexi's "spunk" for taking pictures. It always helps when the subject is willing to strike a pose. Plus, it is even more important, with these kinds of photos, that the subjects show their love. Sure, I can tell people which poses to get into, or how to turn their heads, or to hold their spouses hand, "kiss her on the cheek", ect... But when you can see that they love each love and can act naturally, then the pictures tend to reflect the true sweet nature of the couple.

***BEHIND THE SCENES***
Even though Lexi and Troy were off in "Bliss" land, behind the scenes was not so "blissful". My dear husband volunteered to watch our little munchin' and Peyton (Troy and Lexi's child). Poor little Peyton was not a happy camper!
PLUS... True love = a husband that will fix his wife's makeup during a photo shoot.

While leaving Baton Rouge one day, my husband and I stopped at a little car show. All of them were antiques and have been restored. This one is still in the process. However, my favorite things, on some of the cars, were the fancy hood ornaments.

Okay, Okay... despite multiple suggestions to cheat the contest drawing, I refused. Despite multiple offers to include plane tickets for out-of-state contestants, I laughed, then refused. (Maybe when the prices of photo sessions increase?!?!) Despite offers for me to travel to places across the USA to take pictures, I had to decline.
So I resorted to write all the contestants names' on a slip of paper. Then I put the names in a brown paper bag, like so. (Who says you need a hat?!?)

Then my handsome sidekick/assistant picked a name from the bag. He looked at the slip of paper. Then I turned away so he couldn't draw another name instead. See how technical and precise we are about this contest? Well, without further adue, my congrats go to.....

This was probably the fastest photo shoot! The poor little twins just couldn't handle being in the cold too long, especially being sick! This family was great to work with. I loved to see the kids and their curiosity for the animals in the park!
